Thessalia Merivaki

Lia Merivaki is Director of Thomas S. Foley Institute of Public Service and Public Policy and the Thomas S. Foley Distinguished Professor in Government in the School of Politics, Philosophy, and Public Affairs at Washington State University. Lia is the co-director of the Election Officials Communications Tracker, a massive initiative that collects and analyzes data on state and local election officials' social media communication efforts during election cycles. In January 2026, Lia joined the Center for Democracy & Technology's Non-Resident Fellows Program, where she engages directly with CDT researchers to inform policy work, focusing on Elections & Democracy.
